La giraffa, l'animale che meglio rappresenta il concetto di senso di adattamento nel mondo animale e nell’evoluzione della specie. Peanut, "nocciolina", é un nome di fantasia attribuito dall’artista quando era bambina, alla giraffa del bioparco di Roma, luogo in cui, spesso, questi esemplari sono costretti a vivere. L’opera infatti rappresenta una metafora della vita in cattività: la giraffa è raffigurata come un giocattolo rotto, spezzato, sembra un robot, i cui fili scoperti, richiamano il concetto di un comando a distanza, dell'uomo nei confronti della natura. Peanut rappresenta il mondo animale costantemente sfruttato dall'uomo: dall'attrazione turistica negli zoo (oggi bioparco), allo sfruttamento negli allevamenti intensivi. Per l'uomo, tutto é in vendita, tutto é business, e la pelle degli animali ne è parte integrante. L’intera opera è realizzata con materiali di scarto: scottex, cartone della pizza, gruccia per abiti, un vecchio vestito. Azzaro sceglie questo tipo di materiali per dimostrare come l’arte possa nascere anche da materie non di prima scelta, e come, al contrario, l’utilizzo usa e getta di tutto quello che compriamo, sia la causa principale dell’inquinamento del pianeta

A giraffe, the animal who represents a strong sense of adaptation and the evolution of animals species. When she was a child, Azzaro, called Peanut the giraffe of Rome zoo, that meeting was a bad moment for her because she watched many animals live in boxes and, generally, in an habitat not comfortable for them The painting in fact is a metafore of life in captivity: giraffe is manufactured as a break toy, it seems a robot with its electronic wires out of body, this is a reference to human control. Peanut is a symbol about supremacy of man over nature. Actually animals live out of jungle, in zoo park, they are victims of hunting violence, or they are exploited in the intensive animal breeding. Everything is business, everything has its price and animals are part of these dark plains. The artwork was realised with waste materials, newspapers pieces, food packaging and an old dress. The artist chooses this kind of material to explain how the art could be made by second hand tools and how human garbage is the real problem of planet pollution.
